Post-Adoption Update: October 22, 2008
I think it is fair to describe Baxter’s adoption as a Success Story. His new dad describes him “as near to being perfect as anything my family has experienced.” He has all the good Collie traits and a sensitivity that is amazing. His new dad moves a bit slowly on stairs and on walks, so Baxter considerately adjusts his speed and rhythm accordingly. The family has had numerous visitors and Baxter has been uniformly welcoming and affectionate to all of them, including some very young children. When he goes to Starbucks with his dad, Baxter acts like the official greeter, meeting everyone with the same calm, tail wagging, happy-to-meet-you demeanor. He has even had a chance to play off leash with several other dogs.
Baxter is obviously one lucky dog. He loves his new, forever family and is much loved in return.
