New to Rescue!
Dante is an exceedingly handsome, four to five year old, sable and white, neutered male. This delightful boy came to MWCR with his feline friend Sunny as an owner-surrender. Dante and Sunny’s owners did a lot of traveling and decided that they no longer had enough time to give these guys the attention they need.
Dante loves to go for rides and travel. He is something of a collie sophisticate, having traveled through Europe! But in spite of his international background, Dante is basically a lovable, easy-going kind of guy. He has been an ideal houseguest at his foster home: fully housetrained, well-behaved, obedient and friendly. He gets along beautifully with the other dogs there and loves to play with them. He will fetch his stuffed toys for as long as you are willing to throw them. He is the perfect gentleman, never pushy or aggressive and even willing to relinquish toys to the other dogs.
Dante is one of those dogs who knows no strangers. He approaches everyone with a wagging tail and a smile on his face. He is good with children of all ages, and really likes cats. He walks well on a leash, knows all the basic commands and loves to be groomed. Hey, this guy is perfect!
Dante is a quiet boy who barks only when he needs to go outside. He initially will whimper and cry when he is left alone, but then settles down. He loves stuffed toys and is particularly devoted to his favorite “blankie.” He drags it around the house with him and always takes it to his doggie bed when he is settling in for the night.
Dante is looking for a forever home where he can spend lots of time with his people. He doesn’t need a fenced yard, because he has excellent recall, and though he loves playing with other dogs, he could also be an only dog. He loves kids and cats, and though Sunny is not a mandatory part of any adoption, Dante would certainly like to find a family who would let him bring his best friend along. What more could you ask for: the perfect dog with the perfect companion cat!
Dante is being fostered in Bowlus, MN.
