Courtney is probably around ten years old and has not had an easy life. Her foster mom believes that she most likely lived most of her life outdoors, since she seems to like to go out and lie in the snow. When she comes inside, however, Courtney loves to be with her foster mom, watching her and following her everywhere. She shows no interest in toys or any of the silly games that the other dogs like to play; she just wants to be near her people where she can be petted, brushed or talked to. She is extremely quiet and gentle and is always a sweet, well behaved little girl. She shows no interest in the resident cats.
Courtney loves to lie on her soft bed in the kitchen and watch her foster mom as she works. She also likes to go for walks. But her favorite thing is when her foster mom calls her over for a hug. Mom will hold Courtney’s little head, rub her ears and sweet-talk her while Courtney leans against her, mesmerized by the sheer joy of being loved.
Courtney gets along well with other calm, low key dogs but is frightened and intimidated by more boisterous ones. She loves treats, but always stands at the back of the pack until the other dogs have had theirs first. This gentle girl obviously wants to be loved, but is too shy to put herself forward.
Courtney is looking for a quiet home where she can be the much loved companion of a low key single or couple. A retired person would be perfect for her. Another gentle dog would be fine, but she would also get along very well as an only dog. This little sweetheart is ready to spend her golden years loving and being loved, the loyal friend of someone who will appreciate her calm, gentle ways.
