New to Rescue!
Cowboy is a sixty pound, one year old, smooth coated, collie boy with hypnotic eyes (one blue and one brown). He is a happy, healthy guy who has been neutered and is fully up to date on his vaccinations. Unlike many collies, Cowboy is the strong, silent type. He rarely barks, although if he is lonely, he sometimes whines to let you know that he is missing you.
Since coming to his foster home, Cowboy has been the perfect guest. He has fit in beautifully with all of his foster siblings, both human (ages 8, 9 and 17), canine (Poodle and Golden Retriever) and feline (Persian). He has no desire to be the Alpha dog and appears to have very little prey drive. He loves to be outside, playing and chasing with his foster brothers, regardless of the heat and humidity. Although Cowboy seems to like everyone he meets, he is particularly fond of women. He is his foster mom's special boy, and he follows her everywhere. He even tries to "defend" her from the vacuum cleaner!
Cowboy is a very gentle boy who loves to have his ears rubbed. He is 100% housebroken and has never been destructive in the house. He knows his name, will come when called and walks well on a leash. He is quickly learning the basic commands and is always eager to learn more.
Cowboy is looking forward to a loving, forever home and family of his very own. Since he gets along with everyone, his new home could include children, cats or other dogs, but Cowboy would particularly like to have a forever "mom" to love. A fence would be nice, but is probably not necessary, since this cowboy has shown very little desire to roam!
Cowboy is being fostered in North Branch, MN (north of the Twin Cities).
