Description: No matter how you spell it, this is one very sweet collie girl.

Kandi is doing extremely well at her new foster home and gets along beautifully with the two resident dogs. As you can see from the photos, she and her canine foster sister love to “play fight” but in fact they are the best of buddies. In her previous foster home, there were too many dogs for her to feel comfortable, but she is obviously fine with one or possibly two others dogs. Of course she would also do well as an only dog as long as her family provided her with sufficient exercise and attention.

Kandi loves to go for long walks and would make an excellent hiking partner or fitness companion. If her family included her in these activities, she would not need a fenced yard and could live happily in a condo or an apartment. She is usually a quiet girl, but when her foster mom or dad comes home she always welcomes them with her unique, hound-like greeting: “Rooooooooo.”

Kandi is clearly younger than we initially thought and our best guess as to her age is 4-5 years. She still displays puppy-like antics and has plenty of energy for fun and play. She is well behaved in the house, house trained, and likes to carry around her stuffed toys or chew on her Nylabone. She loves to snuggle and will invite tummy rubs by lying on her back and waving her little legs in the air. She had to be shaved when she first came to us, but with the onset of cooler weather, her beautiful collie coat is beginning to emerge.

Kandi is ready to begin a happy new life with her forever family. She would be great with adults, older kids and one or two playful canine companions. And don’t worry, as long as you have a leash and a pair of walking shoes, our Kandi will help you lose weight – not gain it!
