Description: Prince is another boy from the group of handsome, smooth-coated collies who came to MWCR from a breeder. Like the others, he is young, very good looking and working hard to learn about being a family pet rather than a member of a breeding operation. Some lessons he learned in the blink of an eye. He is fully housetrained and can be given free range of the house when his foster mom and dad are at work. He knows his name, is learning basic commands and is doing his best to get the hang of walking on a leash. He is also crate trained, though he is rarely crated now that he has settled in.

Prince is very good with children of any age. His foster home includes a one year old who loves to lie on him and even pull his tail. Prince takes all of this in stride and seems to enjoy being a big, furry babysitter. He does consider any toys left on the floor to be “fair game” though, and has been known to pull the stuffing out of any plush animals that are left lying about.

Prince doesn’t enjoy grooming, though he will tolerate brief brushing sessions. Fortunately, his handsome, sleek coat requires very little maintenance. He is somewhat underweight and his foster mom is trying to help him gain a few pounds. Prince helps her out whenever possible by snatching any tasty treats that are left too close to the edge of the counter (and he’s a tall boy). His foster home is in an isolated location and does not include a fenced yard. Though a fence is always ideal, Prince’s forever home might not need one, if the location was not too busy and if he was properly supervised.

Prince gets along well with all of the people he meets, and though he will initially bark at strangers, he quickly warms to them. He loves being around his foster family and if he finds himself separated from them, he will howl to let them know where he is. He is a happy, affectionate boy.

Prince is looking for a forever where he can continue to learn about the joys of family life. He would love to have another medium to large dog to play with and would really enjoy having children around. He has already come a long way and all that is needed now is a kiss from a loving family to turn this former frog into a real Prince.
