Description: If you are looking for the perfect, low key companion, you will definitely fancy Fancy. She is a happy, loving collie who greets everyone she meets with a wag of her tail and a friendly nuzzle. She is extremely easy going and gets along beautifully with other dogs.

Fancy came to MWCR from a humane society where she was taken after being found along a highway in Wisconsin. Her experience as a stray had left her very thin, but since coming to her foster home, Fancy has gained some much needed weight and is now available for adoption. She still needs to add a few more pounds, but she has a healthy appetite and should have no trouble reaching her goal.

Fancy is visually impaired (blind in one eye and cataracts in the other) but sees well enough to get around without any trouble in a familiar environment. However, because of her limited eyesight, she absolutely must go to a home with a fenced yard. When Fancy gets separated from her people, she panics and runs around trying to find them. If she were outdoors in an unfenced space when this happened, she could easily become lost. She also has some reduced hearing, though she does respond to loud sounds such as clapping.

Fancy is a joyous, cheerful, bouncy girl who wants nothing more than to be with the people she loves (and that is just about everyone). When she meets a new friend, her tail wags so enthusiastically that it looks like an airplane propeller. She gets along well with the resident dog at her foster home and is respectful of other dogs that come to visit. She rarely barks and loves to be with her family whether it is going for a walk or just hanging out and watching the TV. She is a well mannered collie who is perfectly housetrained, doesn’t chew inappropriately, loves to be groomed and enjoys going for rides in the car. She will sit politely and wait for her leash to be put on before leaving the house or the car.

If this lovely girl has struck your fancy and you have a fenced yard and a low key household, Fancy may be the perfect dog for you. She will do best in a quiet, adult home, preferably where someone is around much of the time. Although she likes children, her reduced vision and hearing make it difficult for her to be around young, active kids since she can’t see well enough to stay out of their way and avoid being stepped on. She would love to be a special companion to a single adult or couple who would lavish her with love.
