Daisy Adoption Pending!!

3 year old sable female

Here is Miss Daisy in early 2010 – nearly 6 years after her adoption!

Daisy is a lovely, three to four year old, collie girl.  She was surrendered to MWCR by her owner and has spent much of her life kenneled.  She is recovering from her recent spay, and has also had her teeth cleaned and has been micro-chipped.

Daisy is fairly new to her foster home, but has already shown herself to be a mellow, gentle house guest.  She  is housebroken and can be crated or left free at night.  She is not at all aggressive with her foster mom's two cats or 18 month old daughter.  (Daisy says there is no challenge in chasing anyone so slow!)  Squirrels, rabbits, motorcycles and tennis balls are another matter however. Oh, and while she likes all the people she has met so far, the excitement of screaming children at the park does unsettle her and make her nervous. Although she gets along well with cats, she would probably be happiest as an only dog, since she doesn't seem to enjoy being with other dogs.

Daisy isn't too interested in toys and hasn't had much of an education so far in her young life.  She didn't know any commands when she came to her foster home, but has already learned "sit" and is working on "down."  Her foster mom says Daisy is a smart girl and a quick learner.  She is working with her to curb Daisy's inclination to bark at vacuum cleaners, lawn mowers and other noisy machines.

Daisy is a healthy, friendly girl who loves to have her beautiful coat brushed.  She enjoys attention and has loads of potential.  Daisy is looking for a forever family that will love her and allow her to really blossom!

She is  being fostered in the Minneapolis area.
