BIO FOR SAMMY

Sammy is a drop-dead-gorgeous, six year old, neutered, collie boy. His unique and dramatic markings make him a real head-turner when he is out for his walks, and maybe that's why Sammy loves them so. His foster mom says that she has to spell the word, because otherwise Sammy breaks into a frenzy of barking! Once on his leash, he is the perfect gentleman however, and his former family says that even children could walk him.

Sammy seems to get along with everyone. He has lived with children of all ages, gets along well with other dogs and is tolerant of cats. He has been micro-chipped, rides well in a car, and knows a variety of commands, including "sit," "stay," "lie down," "come," "shake" and "go kennel." Sammy eats well and drinks with gusto, sometimes getting as much water on him as in him!

Sammy was surrendered to a shelter due to a divorce in his family. The shelter later gave him to MWCR, because they felt that we would be best suited to help him find a home. Sammy has an eye condition known as bilateral microophthalmia. Simply put, this means that both his eyes are abnormally small, and one eye is partially covered by a third eyelid. This condition has not affected his vision, and as you can see, it certainly hasn't affected his good looks.

Sammy is extremely affectionate and is looking for a family that loves to cuddle as much as he does. A fenced yard would be an added bonus. In spite of his stunning, good looks, Sammy is hoping to find a family that will love him for his inner beauty and his loving heart.

Sammy is being fostered in the Minneapolis, Mn area
